We have joined forces with Go Hike Alaska to bring you Anchorage’s most popular bike tour with the best hiking trails in Chugach State Park. Ocean views, mountainscapes, glacial waters, and the best chance for seeing moose in Anchorage — this is a day you will never forget!
Our Anchorage Coastal Cruise Bike Tour allows you to experience the wild side of Alaska’s largest city on a leisurely 9.5-mile guided ride.
The tour begins with a ride through the urban wilderness of Kincaid Park, over 1,500 acres of forested hills nestled on the coastline where moose, bears, bald eagles, and more are often spotted. Start your ride surrounded by wilderness and history as this once was a Cold War Nike Hurcles Missle site.
In addition to Kincaid Park, we also visit Earthquake Park. Here, we bike through some of the lasting devastations from the 1964 Earthquake. The ride then ends at Westchester Lagoon, a waterfowl sanctuary.
This Anchorage coastal bike trail offers views of five different mountain ranges, so there are plenty of opportunities for incredible photos along the way as your guides shares fascinating natural and human history.
NOTE: This is not an electric bike tour.
Get out, get active and take a hike! Walk through boreal forests and glaciated valleys, see where salmon spawn, and spot wildlife like bears, moose, and birds. On this moderate hike, your guide will share a vast knowledge of flora, fauna, and geology. Visit one of Chugach State Park’s best waterfalls. Tucked back in a gorge, listen for the roar of the water through the canyon. Bedrock outcroppings with cascading water make for some of the best photography opportunities. While you don’t need prior hiking experience, you should be comfortable walking 5 miles over several hours.
This tour was super fun, a good work-out, and informative. My guide, Ellie, was incredibly knowledgable and I really enjoyed spending the afternoon with her. Ellie made sure I had... read more the proper fit on the bike before starting and brought me on a trail that had 800 feet of elevation gain with very little human activity. Those fat tires really helped us clamber over some rocky parts of the trail!! Ellie made sure we stopped to view wildlife and pointed out features such as remnants of glacial activity in the valley. Well worth every penny as I could not have done that on my own!! -- I highly recommend a tour on a fat tire bike with Alaska Trail Guides.

She was... read more very upbeat & approachable. She also spotted a mama and a baby moose - the baby only 10 feet off the trail - and kept us safe while we enjoyed an extra long stop to watch the moose eating (while mama watched from the bushes). Would definitely recommend.

Perfect way to begin my trip in Anchorage! I was so impressed by my guide’s knowledge...about everything. I learned about plants, wildlife, geological events — but also great tips and... read more recommendations for where to eat, hike, and watch the bore tide. We narrowly missed seeing a moose.
