Bikes, snow, and puppies oh my! “Exquisite bike tour!! It felt great being able to get some exercise but also enjoy Alaska scenery. The dogs were beautiful and very friendly. The best thing we did on our trip was to book this adventure!” ~ TripAdvisor

Experience world-class winter biking with well-maintained equipment, enjoy Moose’s Tooth Pizza for lunch featured on the Food Network, and then head north for a New York Times Featured Dog Sled Tour! Your local guide will share stories and history along the way, with local tips and tricks on how to stay warm and what life is like in the North.
Does your group have varying fitness levels? Upgrade to an electric assist fat bike and go faster and farther with friends and family. Also, great for the other half who doesn’t own the padded biking shorts.
The key to fat bike comfort is warm head, feet, and hands—Alaska Trail Guides provides pogies, hand warmers, and insulated overboots for these contact points so you’ll be ready for miles of riding! Just come dressed in layers (non-cotton), like you are going out skiing. The length of the trip may vary based on conditions.
I highly recommend taking this tour!
We saw a moose along the trail and stopped for photos (I got video too because he was eating). I'm so... read more glad I got to see one in the wild. It was the highlight of my trip.
We had 2 guides, Ellie who led the group and Stephanie who rode in the back with me. It had been about 30 years since I had ridden (FYI- practice biking before you go if you are rusty at it so you don't embarrass yourself...yup...I embarrassed myself!).
Stephanie was helpful, encouraging, and extremely patient. I really appreciated her staying behind and letting me know what was coming up on the trail such as curves and slopes.
Ellie stopped at various points along the way. As our guide, she shared information about Alaska that was really interesting. Both of these wonderful woman are first class. If you do anything while in Anchorage, this needs to be on your list!
Had a great time. Our guide Brandon was excellent. Funny and made sure we didn’t fall too far behind. No moose or bear sightings this trip but I that... read more is because we are kind of jinxes. The scenery is great nice quiet bike ride through the woods. we definitely do this again the next time we come back to Alaska.
Very beautiful ride along the Coastal Trail. We went in the evening and the trail was not very busy. The ride was about 11 miles and felt very doable for... read more everyone in our group - trail is easy and relatively flat most of the way. Our guide, Chance, was very informative and accommodating to our group of differing age levels (26-65 years old). There were multiple types of quality bikes to choose from (cruiser or hybrid) in multiple sizes.
Only “complaint” is that we didn’t see any moose.
Recommend wearing a windbreaker.
We had a great experience with Elly and Frankie on the bike tour. They were very knowledgeable and made for a fun and safe experience. The equipment was in excellent... read more condition. The pace of the group was steady and not hard to follow. For a 20 something-year-old it was a little slower than my normal, but in a larger group it was great. They made a few stops along the way to catch your breath and to share knowledge of history and the landscape. There is an alternative to this tour, where you can rent bikes in downtown Anchorage and bike the tour yourself, but I still recommend this tour. The trail is 19-20 miles long and they drive you to the opposite end from Anchorage, so you can see the southern half. I would recommend renting a bike downtown and doing the north half on your own, as it's a great trail with lots to see. …
Carl was excellent! 2 hours is not a lot of time, but lesson was catered to our goals, laid back, and definitely progressed our abilities. would categorize ourselves... read more as intermediate to advanced and we all learned something.

I cannot recommend Alaska Trail Guides highly enough. I took the Kenai Peninsula tour with Elly and was impressed and delighted throughout. The pre-ride coordination and communication were top notch... read more and the ride itself exceeded expectations. Elly shared tons of knowledge about the greater Anchorage area and provided great company for the ride down the Seward Highway. In fact, she told me about a trail that I hiked the following day for one of the most awe-inspiring experiences of my life. The ride on the Peninsula was breathtaking (in a good way!) for its views and the experience of riding the trail. I am so glad I found this service and truly appreciated the expertise of Elly to allow me a sample of Alaska on two wheels!
