My group wanted to gather mud for facials since it’s reportedly very beneficial for your skin. Elly and Stephanie helped us safely venture out and gather the mud during low tide. So appreciative to have funny, upbeat and adventurous guides. Oh, did I mention the moose??! We saw several moose! This excursion is a MUST. Loved every minute.

Those fat tires really helped us clamber over some rocky parts of the trail!! Ellie made sure we stopped to view wildlife and pointed out features such as remnants of glacial activity in the valley. We had 2 guides, Ellie who led the group and Stephanie who rode in the back with me. It had been about 30 years since I had ridden (FYI- practice biking before you go if you are rusty at it so you don't embarrass yourself...yup...I embarrassed myself!).
Stephanie was helpful, encouraging, and extremely patient. I really appreciated her staying behind and letting me know what was coming up on the trail such as curves and slopes.
Ellie stopped at various points along the way. As our guide, she shared information about Alaska that was really interesting. Both of these wonderful woman are first class. If you do anything while in Anchorage, this needs to be on your list!

The trails were immaculate, safe, and easy to ride (only one somewhat challenging climb). Derrick made sure we were all good with the speed. There were 10 in our group from wide age range. When we saw a smallish black bear on the trail (doesn’t happen often they said), Derrick had us dismount, remain quiet, put the bike between us and the bear, and then he retrieved his bear spray and was ready to use it. He didn’t need to. The bear calmly meandered over the ridge. Besides that excitement, Derrick stopped frequently to explain about the history, geography, flora and fauna of the area. At the end, after about 9.5 miles, Ellie was there with the van, a snack, and more water. Great ride in a beautiful setting!

It was a group of 6. My family of 4 and 2 other ladies. The bikes were very nice comfort bikes. The trail was beautiful. We saw 2 moose and 2 bears. Elly led the tour and the pace was casual. Most of the trip is downhill. We stopped several times to see things along the trail. Elly was knowledgeable and friendly.
My wife has not ridden a bike much in the past several years and had no problems.
Overall a great tour.
