Elly was raised to wander and explore. She was rock climbing at Smith Rock, skiing at Mt. Bachelor, and hiking, well, everywhere from an early age in Oregon. Moving to Alaska when she turned 18 seemed fitting. Alaska is a vast playground with endless possibilities from biking, hiking, kayaking, glaciers, and mountaineering. She graduated from the University of Alaska Southeast with a B.A. in Communication and English with an emphasis in Outdoor Studies 7 years later. Her time in college taught her that life should be anything but ordinary as she spent her Alaskan summers guiding sea kayaking and glacier trekking trips.
Moving to Anchorage in 2010, Elly’s dream of guiding and owning her own business didn’t fade. She worked in the industry as a glacier guide for a few more years before co-founding Alaska Trail Guides with her partner. Crafting the experiences that help create lasting memories, she is never happier than being out on the trails with you. She strives to have extraordinary experiences every day; come, join her and her team on one today and connect with the wilderness and people in a way that can be difficult to find elsewhere.
