This paved bike path stretches through the woods and along Cook Inlet where you get views of the Aleutian Mountain Range, Denali and the Chugach Mountains.
Load back up and the group heads to lunch at Moose Tooth, one of the top pizza restaurants in the Nation they are also are a local craft brewery. After you are refueled we head to the mountains. Choose from a 6 mile hike or a 10 mile fat tire bike ride. You have two guides with you so both options are available to the group! Either way you choose to explore the Valley you will enjoy peaks towering over on both sides, a mountain stream below and wildlife about.
After your first taste of the Chugach Mountains the views don’t stop! We get in the van and drive South along Turnagain Arm, one of the most scenic highways in the Nation, to Girdwood. Here we check into the Alyeska Resort Hotel where you will spend the next two nights.
Day 2: After breakfast we mount our bicycle for a beautiful ride through Girdwood and along Turnagain Arm. Depending on your comfort and fitness level this ride can be anywhere from 10 miles to 30 miles. A bike path takes us through Girdwood, into the wetlands and through the woods to the coast. Take time to enjoy the fresh air, take in the scenery and experience the stillness.
After lunch you can choose to join one of your guides for a hike or head to Crow Creek Gold Mine to strike it rich and find or fortune. You can always choose to add any excursion offered in the area we are to your itinerary. For example, from Girdwood you can take a helicopter flight seeing tour or go dog mushing. Your guides will ensure that you make it to and from the added excursion. After a day of adventure relax and experience dinner with a view at the 7 Glacier’s Restaurant at the top of the Alyeska Tram.
Day 3: Head further South to Whittier, a tiny town with a big history. Whittier was originally a passage used by the Russian and American explorers and later became a military port. Today, the town is a gateway to the Prince William Sound where kayaking, glaciers and whale are a short boat ride away! Choose from a variety of activities: stay on dry land and go hiking with your guides or choose from a kayak, jet-ski or catamaran and cruise the fjords to see glaciers and wildlife. After a day exploring by land and/or water drive back to Girdwood.
Day 4: Have the morning to sleep in and relax, take a trip to the Wildlife Conservation Center or go hiking. After lunch we drive back to Anchorage which marks the end of your adventure with Alaska Trail Guides.
